Effects of Fe2O3 and Al2O3 nanoparticle-diesel fuel blends on the combustion, performance and emission characteristics of a diesel engine

This research investigates the effects of addition Fe2O3 and Al2O3 nanoparticles (30, 60 90 ppm) Fe2O3–Al2O3 hybrid to pure diesel fuel on combustion, performance emission characteristics a engine. The results indicated that blends improved combustion (in-cylinder pressure heat release rate), (power, consumption thermal exergy efficiency) showed peak increased by 4% rate was 15% in comparison with nanoparticles. Moreover, rise 18% compared nanoparticle additives. Based results, brake power, BTE CO were more than blends, such it power efficiency 7.40 14%, respectively, reduced emissions 21.2%; moreover, additives better reducing BSFC (9%), NOx (23.9%) SO2 (23.4%) emissions. Overall, blend is best alternative if engine are both considered.
